On Saturday March 8, 2025, in one of Nashville’s most iconic small venues, something special happened. It was a night like many others in Music City — three great songwriters taking the stage with a room full of people ready to listen. No spectacle. No performance. Just the quiet beauty of a Nashville writer’s round. But that night, something different took place. A live broadcast carried the show into movie theaters across the country — transforming them into listening rooms where audiences gathered to experience every moment together—in real time.

That night, Music Night® was born.

What began as a simple idea — to share the magic of a Nashville writer’s round with the world — became a reality through the generosity and belief of a community who saw what it could be.

The release of Episode 1 into streaming is a celebration of that first night. It is also a moment to pause and honor Brett James — a remarkable songwriter, collaborator, and friend to so many in this town. He embodied the spirit of what Music Night® exists to preserve. It would become his final recorded performance.

Music Night® was never meant to be just entertainment. It was born out of a belief that there is something sacred about sharing our stories, a reverence for the creative process, and a need for people to know the writers whose songs have reached us in places nothing else can.

This project wasn’t built by a large media company or backed by deep pockets. It has been a labor of love — a family project by a community of people who believe songwriters deserve a bigger stage, that Nashville’s listening rooms matter, and that music is still best experienced the way it was written — live.
